of course the other problem with ebooks.com being Australian, and Dymocks too, is that in the short term, they are bound by our ridiculously content restrictive copyright laws.

I have looked at a couple of books today - Cormac McCarthy's The Road and the Phillip Pullman His Dark Materials Trilogy - and although they are listed at ebooks.com, there is then a list of countries for which they are available and Australia isn't one of them. They are also on fictionwise and I suspect fictionwise wouldn't be objecting if I bought them whereas I don't think ebooks.com is going to give me the option.

I think its a real chicken and egg scenario with publishers waiting for more consumers to use digital before expanding their range/renegotiating their distribution agreements while customers like me really really really not only a decently priced device but access to the titles they actually want to read.
