I find this an interesting observation. Over the weekend, my wife's iPad lost its connection to wifi-b/g. Fortunately, I was able to get it to work on -a while I fiddled with the router (actually an access point whose last FW update was in 2004). Got it to work when I took special characters out of the WPS-PSK password, which was a bit of a head-scratcher since it was the same password for the -a side.

This was all before 4.2, so have no idea what suddenly changed after 6 months. Haven't had a problem since. (two computers and an iPhone were having no problem with the password before I changed it -- only the iPad).

Anyway. For what its worth, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
