Got delivery of my $119 Nook3G today. Looks new. See particulars on the reader under my username. I could not believe that they are still selling SN as low as that (should have a socketed microSD card). Well, figured I am now my own warranty center, and popped the torx screws including the one with the white hymen. Sure enough it has the socketed microSD card, but oddly has a 1.4.3 FW.
3G was only $20 more on the refurb. Can't go wrong there. I got this thing to read more, so I figure why spend less to make the goal more difficult?
I'm busy trying to figure out if I can softroot from 1.4.3 or if I am going to have to configure my DNS, so the wifi is off and the sim card is sitting in the carton. I'd say go with the 3G refurb as you are saving more by spending more! Doesn't that always seem to be the case?
