speedlever, funny thing is, I didn't plan to buy a nook. In fact, after handling one at the B&N store I decided against it. I was set on a Sony. I finally read enough posts to realize that each device had drawbacks and the choice was very personal. Then I came across the Nook refurbs and decided to buy it, knowing I had 2 weeks to make up my mind. Within a day, I was hooked. (I still prowl around looking at the Sony thread, but this way I get to use a touch screen without getting smears on my pages.)
