Also, since you do not have a lot of free income, now is not a great time to buy. In six months, the competition will have driven prices down and quality up and you'll be kicking yourself. (While it is always a good idea to wait, if possible, you are talking about jumping into the low-powered laptop craze the same year that is started.)
And perhaps the Notion Ink will come out soon and will surpass all of our expectations.

Hey, thanks for your reply.
Technically it's not a problem of affordability as I'd just get my parents to buy it, but the fact that the iPad doesn't even have a camera doesn't justify its $500 price tag.
I am curious, can you tell me exactly what capabilities the NC lacks that I'd want? I am not familiar with its browser and music capabilities.
I also thought that the Notion Ink computer would be in the $600+ price range? I am just looking to get a cheap tablet-ish device. My macbook is perfectly fine as of now for the vast majority of my computer needs.
Edit: Just researched about the Notion Ink and it will start pre-orders on December 9. The device looks amazing and I'm probably leaning more towards that now. For just a $150 more than the Nook Color it offers so much more! But then again it is not a dedicated e-reader so both devices do have their own advantages...
