One of the fun things to me about writing YA fiction is that is relies on tone, atmosphere and strange situations rather than visceral scares.

I enjoyed writing The Gift because it allowed for the inclusion of mysterious events, investigation into intriguing things such as turn-of-the 19th to 20th century mysticism and other mysterious fun.

It's a strange mystery, and I really love this effort.
