You can write a book as you want, but there are some
traditional rules that is
good practice don't break. These are in example, in addition to the indent rules, the adoption of few font faces (or even better, just one) along the book, use of serif fonts, more margin at the bottom than at the top, and many other.
Please note that these rules
are not laws, anyone can break these rules intentionally (like in futurist poetry). But if you do it unintentionally, your book can appear like a non-professional work to the eyes of experienced readers.
Unfortunately, there is a wide misuse of the text formatting in the web pages, usually not written with the supervision of an expert typographer.
So, I say to all ebook makers: please, strictly follow the traditional rules used for centuries in the paper books! Don't loose years of study of our ancestors that rendered the reading experience a
plaisir!
