I'm currently located in germany, but travelling a lot while obviously reading a lot, too. Specially for trekking I consider an e-book reader pretty useful as it's light and small, while having lot's of books on it.
Right now I'm tempted to order a kindle 3 for travelling and connectivity reasons. Though I'm not quite sure if I order one directly to germany, or buy it in the US and let someone send it to me. Well, we'll see. In the meanwhile, I'll just keep on reading through the various threads in this forum.
Cheers for now,

Hello, Sharon
Welcome to the forum. I agree, if you're travelling, an e-reader is the most practical thing to have. I found myself at airports in the past wanting to buy a book to read on the flight and was limited to a selection that wasn't appealing to me. I ended up buying a book from an author I never heard of and was greatly disappointed. I wish I had an e-reader then.
Have fun in the forums.
