Phoned Visa yesterday to find out why my card was blocked (it was because of an I-tunes hacker) and they said; ' Why, we've been sending you a message on your mobile phone'.
I tried to tell them I never check the thing for messages; couldn't they just phone me at home on my landline or send me a note, email. But that just can't be done.
So Visa has no means to contact me if I don't use my mobile phone.
