mobi has no problem with this. a few days ago i changed the mobi settings to *not* copy the html. he still has no problems (i.e. all the images in the prc work).
Edited to add: Ray, I think you're making an assumption that when you upload an html file that references, as an example, "/ch2/image001," ...
no, it all get copied. the html files and the images get renamed and moved. sometimes that html files are split (by calibre).

this is for a friend. i am an *old* programmer.
seems like there are a lot of problems with things like this and tocs and ncx's. i have been annoyed enough that i am writing a tool to eat html and make an epub. should'nt be too hard, but i may not make it by the turkey, so i may have to struggle with the existing tools.
any inputs you (or others) might have about an html2epub would be greatly appreciated. the initial goal would be to eat my validated xhtml 1.1 and make an epub that sqeaked by epubcheck.
