Calibre's ebook-viewer.exe can be associated with EPUB files and its lrfviewer.exe can be associated with LRF files.

If you have the book in the calibre library and try to open it within the calibre application, then calibre will do a quick convert to epub and view the book in its viewer. Even within the calibe app I have calibre setup to use external viewers for most formats. Within the calibre App I only use calibres viewer for epub, fb2, lrf, mobi, pdb, prc, and rb.

This is what I use to view files by association on my PC

Epub - Calibre's ebook viewer
LRF - Calibre's lrf viewer
Lit - Microsoft Reader
Mobi - Kindle for PC
PRC - Kindle for PC
PDF - Adobe Reader
RTF - MS Word or Wordpad
Doc - MS Word
ODT - OpenOffice.org
Txt - Wordpad or Notepad++
AZW - Kindle for PC
TPZ - Kindle for PC

I hope this helps.
