Its not normal whatever model it is. It shouldn't randomly reboot if you've got the latest firmware and haven't modified it at all. Call Kindle CS and get them to look at it and possibly replace it.
You mentioned that it is rebooting once a week with your replacement Kindle. Unless you're completely running out the battery each time, it shouldn't ever do that. Its a fault with your Kindle if it does spontaneously reboot that frequently.
