It seems from the general reaction that I'd be best off just putting in a temporary placement name and changing it after I write the book. I'm kind of facing the same problem ASparrow has. I'm trying to make my main protagonist have a somewhat none-alien sounding name while still retaining a name that's appropriate for setting.
