From what I can see both
PRS+ and
EBookApplications have solutions for older models already and are working towards the newer. If I've read some of the forums correctly, some people have adapted these techniques for the later models already. But when you read that some people have also managed to turn their devices into paperweights in these attempts, it does make you a little nervous about trying them.
It's nice to read that a few others seem to have noticed some amount of contrast change. At least, if I'm imagining it, I'm not alone and maybe we can form a support group.
