new here too
Hi everybody:
At present, I have owned a nook for two months or so, and have since gotten a Kindle DXG and will have a Kindle 3 (3G + WiFi) on Monday next week. I have decided that the Kindle is a better match for my needs, so I am in the process of switching over.
Originally, I got the nook because my wife and I enjoy going to Barnes and Noble to browse and she likes to have her latte. We like the "brick and mortar" experience. We have enjoyed including the nook in that experience.
But then, I got the Kindle DXG because I wanted the larger format for my sheet music PDFs. After using it for a while, I truly began to favor using it for reading in general and started buying books for it. I decided that I would rather have a Kindle 3 for when we travel, since I can then sync up with the DXG for continuity in my reading across these devices. That Kindle 3 will be here day after tomorrow.
Edit: I should mention that my wife also has a nook, which she got at the same time I did. But then, she tried my Kindle DX, liked it, and hers arrived yesterday. It will be interesting to see if she decides to have one of each moving forward.
