While I prefer finished trilogy (or comic series for that matter), I also read them as they come out. Depends whether it's something you really want to read or not. For example, no, I couldn't've waited for the last Harry Potter book to come out.

But that also means you won't be getting any feedback from readers until it's complete. What if nobody likes the first book of the series...
