Terrible news!
The second book in the Sid Tillsley trilogy is out.
The Great Right Hope was the first. Some might call it trash, but most wouldn't be so kind.
I thought that
The Great Right Hope might be whimsical enough to be entertaining. But the first 30, or so, pages tried to set up a "serious" story starting with "The Coalition".
"A council of vampires and humans, formed to hide the existence of the undead". The vampires won’t kill indiscriminately anymore and the "council" will clean up the bodies. Countless lives will be saved. You can learn the details later.
Because of the first 25 - 30 pages I almost tossed it. But later I actually started laughing out loud. That almost never happens, and the first time it did with this book took me by surprise.
"Sid Tillsley is a forty-six year old benefit-fraudster, from Middlesbrough, and one thing sets him apart from his northern brethren. Yes, he’s an overweight alcoholic, and he’s also a sexist, homophobic lazy git… but what makes him different is that he can kill vampires with a single punch."
Vol II: A Fistful of Rubbers
"Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, but they all have one thing in common. When darkness descends and insurmountable odds overwhelm, heroes rise up, selflessly putting their lives on the line, to protect those in need. Sid Tillsley is more inclined to be legless rather than selfless. Whether he’s a hero at all is debatable as he’s making a packet from knocking out vampires and he’s only really doing it because his mate, Brian, told him that he’ll probably get a shag out of it, "
Un-redeeming trash. And I can't wait to start reading it.
"A Fistful of Rubbers will be available in these formats: Paperback, PDF, PRC, LIT, ePub, HTML, Mobi (Kindle)"
LL-Publications is where I bought the last one. And as they were good enough to publish the first one that's where I went for the second book.
Right now you can get
both ebooks for $7.99 from LL-Publications, or A Fistful of Rubbers from Amazon for
$4.79 (ebook). Strangely, Amazon only has The Great Right Hope in paper, and that's at $14.99! The single ebook is $5.99 from LL-Pub.
Both ebooks are DRM FREE.
The bad part. I have Comcast and it turns out that they think that LL-Publications is a spamer. But my first purchase from them was over a year ago and I have
never received any unsolicited mail from them. NONE.
But the problem is that now Comcast filters them out their e-mail so I couldn't get my ebook. Jim Brown (editor@ll-publications.com) used another e-mail account to send me my book. I asked him to try to fix it with Comcast and he replied (in part
& the next day):
"I have tried to send you the A Fistful of Rubbers ebook, but unfortunately Comcast has returned the email as failed, and blocked our IP address for spam (Comcast are bears when it comes to email, "
In spite of the problem, I do recommend them.
PS - NOT RECOMENDED FOR ANYONE UNDER FOURTEEN! And those with fourteen year old minds, like mine, will love it.
