I have to agree with KK on this one, for me, saying someone was shot implies that they were shot by someone other than themselves. I can't recall ever hearing of a suicide story where they simply reported the victim/perpetrator as being shot unless it was a murder-suicide and then they almost always report it as such.

In the defense of the news agencies though, since they didn't know it was a suicide, reporting them as being shot was the only option they had to go with.
and I was simply trying to give the follow up.
