Back in the account menu of the connect software, I copied the code in the option to redeem gifts and... that's it.

First off, just wanted to say Hi to everyone. After reading this thread I went ahead and purchased a Sony PRS-505 from B&H. Got to me here in Australia in 5 days... I was most impressed. Not taxes to pay on it so it was mega awesome.
I'm _loving_ the reader. I should be a salesman for Sony because (I work at an ISP) I have inspired geek envy in half my company and a group are getting together on Monday to buy 10 of them! (one guy is getting 2, one for him and one for his partner.)
Anyway. Just wanted to say "Hi" but also add to the above post by saying that the purchase of gift certs for yourself via the Sony connect software works fine and dandy. Find a US address and just add your credit card with that address as the address. It works! I was as surprised as the next person (I used my parents address in the US since they conveniently live there, but with an AU credit card number). You can't buy books direct but you can buy gift certs sent to your own e-mail address no problem. Go Figure.
Been getting books all day! Enjoy reading everyone!
