Sorry Paul - my post wasn't clear! What I was referring to as having been "stated several times" in this thread was that the packaging that the replacement Kindle came in should be used to return the defective Kindle; I was not saying that it had already been stated that the old Kindle had to be returned.

Until you said it, I hadn't considered the fact that you might not receive the replacement Kindle within the 30 day return window that Amazon requires. You should query them about this - via email so you have a "paper" trail - and ask if there is an extension provided for over-seas customers. After all, it is up to Amazon to see to it that you get the replacement Kindle well within the required 30 days so that you have time to return the defective unit within the same window.
