If the OP is dealing with individual files, the they are just that. Single files.
With Previous and Next removed , how does one navigate?

OTOH packaging them together into a book (epub) make them easy to deal with.

Since "Previous" and "Next" Are part of a <a HREF= type links, Search(&R) should be easy once the correct term is set to avoid other valid links.
