I wouldn't have bought a Kindle if iPad had come out first. I got plenty of use out of my K2, though, so I don't regret buying it. It just sits around now.
I also have a Touch, so I can read and listen to music when iPad is too bulky (say, when standing on a crowded subway). Touch also lets me read without worrying about draining my iPhone battery.
I don't have much gadget lust, though. I need a significant reason to switch at this point. For e-reading, my needs are being met.
