You will note at the ongoing Party that is occasionally talked about in The Lounge and which occurs at my Chateau Pompette (last Tuesday) that I am the MC, host and barman. The key to those roles is that they involve planning and formality and busywork that, alas, pulls me away from the heady business of actual socialising. This is
not an unfortunate side effect, but a result of wily intent.
