In the latter case, he should have traveled through the Leningradskoye highway, which is (at least, that part of it which is inside the Moscow's borders) primarily built on so-called Stalin's architecture buildings. In the former case, yes, that railway line is going through nearly the worst suburbs of Moscow. There is only one district worse than that, called Kapotnya, you can see how bad it is by the photo
