MR worldwide eBook signing tour diary -- day 2 - Brisbane Airport
Well - I managed to escape from the plane's lavatory and deplane safely, despite the growls from all my fellow passengers still wearing their dinner napkins. I had to smack the short pilot with a tray to get to the exit!
And there SHE was - SneakySnake - waiting to greet me! I recognized her instantly from her avatar. But I hadn't realized she had been working out this much. She shrieked "I've been expecting you" and grabbed hold of me and gave me a BIG "Welcome to Oz" hug - and it went on and on and on and on -- man, that woman is strong! I could hardly breathe! And the other passengers began to stare and take pictures! My face was pressed into the napkin she was wearing around her neck [is this a quaint Aussie custom when greeting guests?]
I finally had to bang her in the head repeatedly with her prize ereader to get her attention, and make her let go. While her attention was focused on the now malfunctioning ereader, I made tracks for the nearest exit. Maybe I could find another Oz MR member for a bit of a rest!
