I agree with Ken, first the 2gb cards, then the 4's became incredibly reasonable buys. Now as more cards are moving into the mini and micro with adapter even the larger SD cards are becoming a very good buy.
My wife bought me a 16 gig card 6 months ago for about 1$ per gig. Couple that with a 3$ SD to USB adapter and you have incredible flexibility. You can use it on a jetbook, a camera, or for moving large files quickly between computers. Its just plain handy.
