Tom Clancy. Probably the most innovative of them all. (I am putting him with Ms. J.K. Rowling and Ms. Jean M. Auel).

Red Storm Raising is the one I reread the most. The low altitude fights and the tank actions have remained alive in my mind years after years, and have given me undiluted satisfaction.

There are two more books that I reread several times. Without Remorse and Clear and Present Danger. In both books, the details have remained tasty after many rereads, (resteeps in tea's lore).

I have read the two about Jack Ryan Jr., The Teeth of the Tiger and Dead or Alive. Not that bad. I will get the next one Dead or Alive when it comes up. There is still something there, I do not know exactly what, but something. Certainly not in the class of the opening sentences in the The Hunt for Red October, where I got hooked for good. Mr. Clancy certainly knows how to write, not only to research.

I have not touched the series Op-Center, NetForce, NetForce Explorers, Power Plays. Why? Why should I?

PS. A word of advice to newbies. Posting links is very easy on this site and it is helpful to others.
