MR worldwide eBook signing tour diary -- day 1

Well, I bid good-bye today to my loving MR fans - who have apparently forgiven me for my "trick ending" that names BOb as the culprit! Again! In fact, they have provided a free plane ticket for me to embark on a signing tour! They're such wonderful friends!

I had to go through one of those new radioactive security scanners at the airport though - this one tested to see if you were carrying a bomb by heating you up to see if you would explode! For some reason, they made me go through it several times - "just adjusting the controls" the nice lady said. But finally the little red indicator widgets popped out on the two foil wrapped temperature sensors I was holding. I was a bit singed, but they applied large amounts of "healing sauce" to me. I tossed the sensors back to Am and scampered off to catch my plane! You should have heard the loud shouts of encouragement behind me! It brought tears to my eyes - which helped to wash out some of that sauce!

Wow! I nearly missed the flight! Now, you know I'm not the type of guy to criticize receiving a free prize, and I know the global recession has affected MR too, but the airline I was booked on was truly "questionable." I mean, some airlines make all the passengers run to grab a good seat. On this airline, they tried to serve the last passenger to board as the in-flight meal! That shifty-looking short pilot that cut in front of me at the airport led the hungry group! Fortunately, I was able to barricade myself in one of the lavatories for the duration of the flight, and we've now landed.

I was in such a hurry at the airport, I forgot to look at the boarding gate and see where my first stop on the tour was! I'm hoping it's Oz-land ... I have so many friends there I'm dying to meet!
