I hate those farking trojans with a passion, not least because they take so sodding long to clean up properly. At work if someone manages to get one of those, we just rebuild the laptop - far quicker.

That's my route too. I don't keep
ANY files on my C drive other than system and program files. Everything else is stored on other drives. If/when something happens to cause serious problems to my computer, I just re-format the C drive, and re-install the OS and applications. I keep a regular backup of my application data files so all it takes is a quick overwrite after installation to put me right back to a clean computer. Less than 2-3 hours, most of that being waiting time as things load.
