If all that is "rubbish", then why did Microsoft for example implement a switch into its Windows Mobile for smartphones saying:
When device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to the PC. ???
I think they mean lithium-ion batteries, don't they?
This proves also that USB charging can be switched via software.
