Stephenson's Baroque Cycle on Amazon
I want to get Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle series for my K3. However, the listings on Amazon are unclear about exactly what is what.
Basically the publisher and/or Neal made a total mess of how they released and published these books, and Amazon has essentially made it more screwed up. The series was originally published as three books: Quicksilver, The Confusion, and The System of the World. Later on, they re-published the series but this time breaking it up into eight books: "Quicksilver" was split up as Quicksilver, the King of the Vagabonds, and Odalisque. "The Confusion" was split up as: Bonanza and the Juncto. And "The System of the World" was split up as: Solomon's Gold, Currency and "The System of the World".
The problem is that when ordering the kindle version from Amazon of either "Quicksilver" or "The System of the World", it is unclear whether I'm getting the first releases (which are complete volumes of three books each) or the later releases (which are incomplete volumes). Due to the way Amazon's reviews are set up, one is never clear which ACTUAL version of a given title is being reviewed.
The hardest one to figure out is "Quicksilver". The kindle version SEEMS to be the original release version (with three books) but some of the reviews indicate otherwise, and that it actually might be only the first book of the first volume.
So.... does anyone here KNOW which versions are the kindle versions offered on Amazon?
What I want (if it exists) - the whole Baroque Cycle, in the original three volumes.
thanks in advance, d.
