Hi and thanks for taking the time to reply. Persistent zoom is good! THe 602 is seeming better and better for my needs.
I have included two links below. The first one is to a PDF which has "selectable text" within the images. I suppose this would make it easier for me to put through ABBYY Finereader and tidy up into a proper ebook. The link to the PDF is at

The second link is to a google book via archive.org. This is an image PDF which will be harder to OCR and tidy up.

I know both archive and google provide various formats and I have downloaded lots of the mobi and a few epubs but they are automatic OCR production and are badly formatted and contain a lot of spurious text. If and when I get time I should spend some time turning some of these into well made ebooks. In the meantime, I'd rather be able to read the PDFs in the original format.
