I was thinking of making my own spine and had decided that two small machine screws were the answer. In fact, only one need be removable to allow your Sony to be placed and removed.

I was thinking of using a bent alluminium bar of sufficient thickness to allow the machine screws to be screwed through an undersize hole. A hard, self tapping screw would cut it's own thread. I suggest the lower screw could be secured in place by some screw locking compound (such as "Loctite") or a strong glue, allowing the upper screw to be moved to secure the Sony or to remove it.

However, I have to admit that I did not execute my thoughts as I decided to buy a leather cover. It is on order and I will report back when received.
