The two essential points made in this thread are:

1. Make sure your computer is running in order to charge the Sony 650 & 350. If the computer goes to sleep or hibernates or shuts down, your reader stops charging and instead discharges, so check or change those settings.

2. When you are going to disconnect the Sony from the computer, use the "Safely Remove Hardware" procedure (right click on the icon that will be in your SysTray). The Sony reads as two additional hard drives on your computer. You shouldn't just unplug it without making sure that all the processes have finished. (Just a FYI, this should also be done for anything that shows up on "My Computer" as an additional drive, such as a USB stick.)

Regarding the "tone" of the responses in this thread. Sometimes you get responses from people who want to be helpful, sometimes you get responses from people who have just gotten annoyed by people not reading instructions or not even thinking that there might even be instructions (I'm not referring to you specifically - I'm thinking of one of my friends who is very intelligent but totally uninterested in anything to do with the correct operation of her computer). It's the luck of the draw regarding who sees your thread in the first place and who is in the mood to reply. At least enough traffic was created that you got some helpful responses.
