The official word; where are these refurbished Nooks coming from.

Well, this information is only as good as the source, and I suppose B&N could be telling their people a tale, but the official story is that they had a large run of bad cases and, as such, they had to refurbish these otherwise new units with new cases to repair the cosmetic problems. This explains the units with brand new firmware, the full warranty, the selling through multiple re-sellers, and the many reports that these items are new.

So, when they are gone, they are gone and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a price drop. A % off coupon just released specifically will not work on any Nook
