Wading Through Kindle Store Public Domain Books

I just downloaded Something New by P.G. Wodehouse from Project Gutenberg. It has some formatting quirks.

I don't mind paying a buck or two for a properly formatted/proofread public domain book.

I checked out Amazon and there are six Kindle versions of this book ranging from $3.99 to $0.99.

Is there any chance that any of these will be any better?

Any advice for someone looking for public domain books that look good on the Kindle?

I know there are lots of places to download them. I'm looking for places other than mobileread where I'll have a better than average chance of getting a version that looks good on the Kindle.
