1. I uploaded directly to Amazon's DTP, which is where I make most of my money. I also signed with INgrooves to distribute to all the other e-book stores.
2. Amazon gives a choice about DRM, and I chose not to employ it.
3. Nothing about the process seemed difficult to me. Some things, like editing and cover design, take time, money, and patience, but I've worked in publishing my whole life, so I enjoy all of it.
What requires the most work, however, is promotion. It's ongoing, and to make money, it has to be part of your everyday routine.
