I have had this issue for the first time last night on my 3 week old K3. The temperature in N. Calif got down to 30 degrees and it was 60 degrees inside of my house. Te first time that I encountered the issue was when the temperature was low. I had earlier suggested that the issue occurred when the temperature was warmer then normal. This suggestion was just based on the expansion potential of the plastics used in the device. I now believe that the issue is related to the contraction of the plastics between the switch and the case. Amazon may have also started using some type of lube that is temperature sensitive in the newer production models, but I doubt it. It could be also that the spring steel used in the switch is sensitive to temperature changes, again this is unlikely. What I do know is that I will most likely NOT take the unit apart to figure out what the issue is, that is what the warranty is for. Hopefully the switch will resolve itself. I will give it a couple of weeks and will also observe what happens in warmer temperature
