I added my grandma to my plan, gave her a smart (ish) phone, and taught her to text. She's 85 years old, and doing pretty good, I would say!

Mostly I taught her because since my family plan has 3 big texters, I have an unlimited texting plan, so it's a lot cheaper than calling all the time. And easier on me when I'm at work and gramma wants to chat about the weather.
