Hmm... It doesn't take what i'd call pressure on mine to hold it to the right for 7 seconds. In fact, I was having problems with my switch getting stuck when I was just doing the quick slide to sleep, but they went away and never had a problem since I used off, because I use it less.

I only use off instead of screensaver mode so I can keep the screensaver disabled. That has kept it from falling asleep when I was interrupted from reading - and that keeps me from having to use the slider so much to wake it up.

I don't think it matters, except for user choice, and some battery saving while in off as opposed to standby. If you turn it on and off a lot, that advantage likely disappears.

So I really think it all just depends on how a person wants to use it.

Where do you see a menu option for turning it off?

Maybe I'm overlooking it, but the only thing I see or have read about is one for "restart". That's an actual shut-down reboot.

(Waking it from off takes no longer on mine than waking it from sleep. Rebooting takes over a full minute.)
