I've finished Miss Mackenzie, and unfortunately it's not my favorite book ever because of the aforementioned horrible attitudes towards women but also because the second half of it was really boring. "Will he marry me? Won't he marry me? Oh, I'm so poor and low in society." wtf ever.
Started reading the Kalevala for class, and it's GREAT. I'm reading the freebie version from Amazon so it's the old translation from 1887 and it's a little awkward compared to the one from 1989 (the Oxford one my classmates are reading), but not so much that I can't enjoy the poem.
