I don't think a photo or video can really tell us what we want to know about this technology. That's only going to happen when independent reviewers (or perhaps ourselves) can get production devices in their hands. Even then, there may not be a consensus because everybody has different requirements and usage patterns.

Presumably it is at least clearly superior to conventional LCD in strong light - that is its entire reason to be. There will be applications where that capability is decisive (I'd love to have this display on my handheld GPS). Whether it would function well for a dedicated ereader device is another question.
