Hi cassidym. At the moment I'm also leaning towards the Sony. The only "killer feature" on the Kindle, as least for me, is the keyboard and an easy ability to search (mainly for things like reference books: cookbooks, computer books, Bible, etc.). However, the Sony is (a) cheaper, (b) has better format support, both current and promised, and (c) is made by a company who has less incentive to lock it down. There are some things about the Kindle "ecosystem" that bother me.
Overall, though, I'm trying to keep in mind that this will be my first device, and not the final end-all be-all. I have a feeling lots of things will change in the next couple of years, for all companies involved, and it will only get better.
