I tested to see if it made any difference, but it hardly did. Neither does locking all sensors. They seem to account for 5-10% power saving each in idle mode.
Though my method of testing is very inaccurate. I fully charged the device, then put the wall charger on a simple energy meter (which becomes unreliable around 1W). I measured 3W maximum power usage and 1W when idle. I think the 1W idle usage explains why the battery drains so quickly. Don't know which component is responsible for the high idle usage though.
