While the Fleming family is probably doing okay, I don't think they get much of anything from the movies. I believe Fleming sold the film rights to Harry Saltzman, who was later bought out by his partner, Albert R. Broccoli. Since most of the new Bond movies are not connected to the original source material, I'm not sure how much money goes to the family.
I never realized about that Public Domain thing. That could be a be a very interesting issue in 5 years.
