That is what I am saying, it is not recognizing the sony reader being plugged in. why I think I do need that firmware update. I had it plugged in, it does not see the sony reader cord. so now I put a sd card in with two books just to see and I guess I just don't get it now how to see the books on the card, sighs. Been a while since I used it. Transfered the books just fine, but my 25 or so books on the reader at this time are still the only ones listed, not seeing the card. Either way. This chord into the book is the problem. win 7 64 bit must be the problem here and why I can't do anything with it. And of course I can't get a hold of them via their sight. I did email them so maybe they can tell me where to send the sucker. If I have to pay for this I won't bother, just get something new ........

This software does not work on the 64-bit versions of Windows XP. 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7 is supported since Sony eBook Library version 2.5.00.09170 for all but the 500 models.[13]""""
what I figured. so now trying to figure out how to get it to see a memory card since i have never used one... and search isn't helping me much but then again, never did good with those either. haha.
