I did something similar once, I think I mentioned it in an older thread here on MR... it wasn't a quicky, but the book was good, the reader was on a stand on the small table at the bedside, so I kept reading until the end of the chapter while she kept her eyes closed.
With my current significant other, though, no: if she walks in as her mother did her, I'm suddenly unable to read. At least until my "lower brain" is satisfied.
