mmm........I"m not following your reasoning here.
I also had a K1 since June of 08. It did what it was supposed to do, download and read books.
Games weren't even an option then.
Like with phones, and every other electronic device, I don't expect any kind of 'credit' towards an upgrade. No one does this.
Not to mention the fact that when I bought my K1 it was $299, and the K3 is selling for $139!!!
