Anybody have any special hunches why our cats do this, and do it much more when we are reading than at other times?
My own personal thought is that when we are reading and relaxed, we produce more steady brain wave activity in the 7-14 cycle frequency. (During active times we fluctuate all through the 5-30+ cycle range.) Cats normally remain in that 7-14 cycle frequency at all times, and so feel more akin to us when we are too. Same reason cats will usually want to sit on a person when they meditate. I'm just guessing here. Anyone else have an idea?
