They are random in the sense that my readings and interests are somewhat random. Some history just to explain.

Some weeks ago I was reading about modern child labor. Then I remembered that in 19th century, child labor was common even in developed countries. So, I found that picture.

The U. S. Grant picture came because I watched a documentary about the USA-Mexico war and learnt that the then-future USA president fought there.

I found the Cristeros pictures while searching information about a movie they are filming about that war. Andy Garcia is starring as a Cristero chief.

And so on. Maybe the common theme is that there are people because people are always the protagonist and/or the sufferers of events. Like these smiling people in a trench during the Spanish civil war.
